ExcelAire is a dynamic aviation firm specializing in worldwide jet and helicopter charters, aircraft management, maintenance and sales.

Founded in 1985, the company began as Eastway Aircraft Services, a maintenance business focusing on the repair of piston and turbo-prop airplanes.  President and founder Bob Sherry started the company as a young mechanic with 1,000 square feet of rented hangar space at Long Island MacArthur Airport.

Developing a reputation for high standards and an uncompromising commitment to safety, Eastway soon entered the jet age maintaining a fleet of five business jets for a Wall Street investment firm.

As private aviation continued to flourish, so too did Eastway.  Those first jets led to management and maintenance contracts for a variety of business jets and the founding of ExcelAire Service.  ExcelAire first entered the charter business with the Falcon 900 – a long range, 12-passenger jet.  With the addition of the Falcon jet, the company evolved into a full-service aviation firm dedicated to private jet charters.  Responding to the demand for regional travel, ExcelAire added helicopter charters in the late 1990s.

ExcelAire has since grown to manage the New York metropolitan area’s largest locally based Gulfstream fleet including GIIIs, IVs, and the ultra-long range GV.  The company also operates Cessna Citations, Learjets, Hawkers, and the ultra long range Global Express plus a fleet of helicopters including state-of-the-art Bell, Sikorsky and Eurocopter aircraft.

The company maintains over 200,000 square feet of office and hangar space at Long Island MacArthur Airport.  ExcelAire is an FAA Certified Air Carrier and Approved Repair Station operating under Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 91, 135 and 145.
